The Sheep and the Goat
Narrator Unknown
A sheep and a goat were eating grass in a field.
The sheep said to the goat, “Let’s go home.”
The goat said, “Why? I want to eat more.”
The sheep felt cold and said, “Why don’t I go to the cave?”
Finally the sheep went to the fox’s den to keep warm.
And the hare came and said, “Who is in the fox’s den?”
The sheep says, “It’s me, who butts with my head anyone who comes across me.”
The hare was afraid. She went away.
The hyena came and said, “Who is it in the fox’s den?”
The sheep said again, “I am the one who butts with my head anyone who come across me.”
And the hyena also ran away.
The fox came and asked the same question, but ran away when the sheep gave the same answer.
The fox asked the hyena what she should do.
He told her, “Just go to the den and call, “Sheep! Can I be your maid?”
So the fox went and asked her, “Can I come in and be your maid?”
The sheep said, “OK.”
So the fox went in and killed it.
