Once there was a man who had a daughter. He said to her, "Please don't get married. Live me with me and look after me all your life."
Then she met a man from far away and secretly she fell in love with him. Everyone in the village knew she wasn't supposed to marry a local man, and that was why she found a man from far away. At last, she became pregnant.
When her father noticed, he said, "What happened? Didn't I tell you not to marry anyone? Now you are pregnant. Why did you do this?"
She said, "How did it happen that I was born? Do you want me to live and die without any descendants? I want to marry and have children of my own. Now I am pregnant and I have a husband. You can do what you like with me."

በአቻን ኦኮኝ የተተረከ
አንዲት ሴት ልጅ የነበረው አንድ ሰው ነበር፡፡ እሱም “እባክሽ አታግቢ፡፡ ህይወትሽን በሙሉ አብረሺኝ እየኖርሽ ተንከባከቢኝ፡፡” አላት፡፡
ከዚያ ግን ከሩቅ የመጣ ሰው አፍቅራ በድብቅ ፍቅሯን መለዋወጥ ጀመረች፡፡ የመንደሩ ሰው ሁሉ የአካባቢውን ሰው ማግባት እንደማትችል ስለሚያውቅ ነው የሩቅ ሰው የፈለገችው፡፡ በመጨረሻም ፀነሰች፡፡
አባቷም ይህንን በተመለከተ ጊዜ “ምን ነካሽ? ማንንም እንዳታገቢ ብዬ አልነገርኩሽም ነበር? አንቺ ግን አረገዝሽ፡፡ ለምንድነው እንደዚህ ያደረግሽው?” አላት፡፡
እሷም “እኔ የተወለድኩት እንዴት ነበር? ካለምንም ልጆች ዘሬን ሳልተካ ኖሬ እንድሞት ነው የምትፈልገው? እኔ አግብቼ ልጆች እንዲኖሩኝ እፈልጋለሁ፡፡ አሁን እንግዲህ ነፍሰ ጡር ነኝ፡፡ ባልም አለኝ፡፡ የፈለከውን ልታደርግ ትችላለህ፡፡” አለችው፡፡
